Remember when I used to blog all the time? This year I've blogged a grand total of 10 times. I think about writing, but then I don't. But, here we are. November 1st. It's National Blog Month, which means yours truly will attempt to publish a post every day this month.
What will I write about each day? Your guess is as good as mine.
November is birthday month around here. I was lucky enough to have 2 kiddos in November. In fact, I had the same due date for both of them, but Daniel came 2 days late and James came 18 days early!
I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that Daniel will turn 6 and James is turning 3. There's a saying I've seen that is so fitting to how it feels with each passing birthday. "The days are long, but the years are short." I TRY to embrace every stage. I'm not saying I'm successful at that. Some days my patience is worn so thin that I imagine a vacation alone. But every stage has its good and its bad. It's about finding the good and embracing it.
Daniel is loving kindergarten. We had a wonderful conference with his teacher last week and he's doing amazing. I love his teacher. I prayed that God would place him with the right teacher and he did. She's loving, but no nonsense. It's exactly what he needs. He seems to enjoy just about everything he does at school. I've already gotten 2 calls from the school nurse from playground injuries. That boy is just like his mama. He hit his head on the slide one day and other day he walked directly in front of a swing and got kicked in the face! He got to ride on the school bus for the very first time a couple of weeks ago on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. It was kind big for me too since I always have the kiddo strapped into a car seat. He loved it and we all enjoyed our morning at the patch.
James likes his freedom at home when his Bubby is at school. He constantly wants to know when we're going back to get him though. Then they get home and promptly start fighting and trying to kill each other. They're best buds though...even if they don't always show it.
He loves books and has a lot of his favorites memorized. He can spell a few words. Oddly...as I typed this he started singing a song where he spells red. He is generally good natured, but as he nears 3, he's becoming increasingly stubborn and sassy. He wants independence. He has zero interest in potty training. And he's a horrible eater. Like, I'm to the point of seeing if we can get referred to an eating specialist. But, homeboy does LOVE his donuts. He's downright possessive of those babies.
Speaking of the whole, not potty trained thing, I have to wrap this up due to a pungent smell wafting my way... Joys of motherhood.
i love reading about your life :) Yay November!
