Birthday and Iowa

That moment you realize that you haven't blogged today, because you've been busy traveling, and you really don't WANT to write because it's 9:00 and you're trying to watch This Is Us from last night.
But...you haven't missed a day all month, so alas, here you sit.

Started the day by singing Happy Birthday to my 5 year old boy! I even let him have a cupcake for breakfast and put a number 5 candle in it, because those number candles are serious business. All he did was lick the frosting off, but it's his birthday. Cake is always okay for breakfast on your birthday! (Or frosting).

He got to take his cupcakes to preschool, and it sounds like he had a fun morning. He got a special birthday hat, and got to sit in the special birthday chair. He also got a Pete the Cat book from his teachers. His teacher even did the Thanksgiving celebration on Monday because she wanted him to get to have a special day for his birthday! I LOVE both of his teachers and his preschool so much. They make each of the kids feel so special!

While he was a school, I was at home with James running around with my head cut off packing. Okay, not really, but I was all over the place grabbing things to pack and doing some laundry. I got everything done, and was even able to take all of my fall decorations down and put them in the basement, so when we come home the house will be ready to decorate for Christmas!

We ate lunch, and after Jacob got home we headed for Iowa. It was a rainy and dreary ride. My van made an awful whining sound the whole way. Last time I took it in they couldn't get it to make the noise. Ugh. But, we made it!

The boys were happy to be free and had a couple of hours to play with Mimi and Pa before bed!

Now it's time to get back to my show. Well...after mom comes back out. Somehow the boys and dad cracked a lightbulb earlier and when dad was getting ready for bed the bulb shattered all over his bedroom.
