My Little 5 Month Old

As of Monday, I officially have a 5 month old! It's crazy to think back to a year ago this time. I was only a couple months along and thinking that November seemed so far away. In fact, last year he was the size of a kumquat. This year he's a roly poly little man.

On Saturday I decided that it was time for him to try some cereal. Many babies I know, have a hard time at first when eating from a spoon. Daniel acted like it was nothing new! He took right to it.

We just feed him once a day for now and he doesn't get too much, but he enjoys it! I got out the highchair on Monday. After having a battle with it, I had to wait for Jacob to get home so he could simply pop the piece right in that I had struggled with!

It's nice to have it out now, because now he can sit in the kitchen and watch me too!

On Sunday we went to church at Taylorville Christian for the 2nd time to visit. Our church saga is another blog post in itself, but we're in search of a church home right now. Daniel was pretty fussy to begin with. Jacob took him out and walked around with him, but as soon as they came back in he started crying again. Like full on meltdown. He wasn't a fan of the singing. I took him out and found the Prayer Room outside of the sanctuary and spotted a rocking chair. Since no one was in there we went in and rocked until he fell asleep. He slept though the sermon and then woke up and cried as soon as the closing song started. We ended up just leaving at that point, but we did get to meet the senior minister while we were getting Daniel hooked into his car seat and he gave us a little gift bag with some info and goodies. (Including $5 to McDonalds...I think they're bribing us! Ha ha!)

On Sunday afternoon there was a bridal shower for one of my old coworkers. I just couldn't decide if I wanted to go. Actually, I wanted to go, but I needed to take Daniel and I knew it was royally going to mess up his nap. 45 minutes before it started I decided I was going, so I rushed around getting myself and Daniel ready.

I ended up having a really great time too! Daniel ended up sleeping for awhile. He was fussy the rest of the time, but that's okay. Everyone enjoyed seeing him.

Daniel tried a mint. Ha ha!

That day wore him out! In fact, he slept for 9 hours straight that night. I still wake up every few hours to check on him, but it sure is nice to be getting more sleep as a whole.

I'm excited for this weekend. Mom and dad are coming on Friday afternoon. Dad hasn't seen Daniel since he was 2 months old! Saturday, I will be celebrating my Golden Birthday. 28 on the 28th. Crazy!

  1. Two things - that Daniel is getting cuter and cuter.
The other thing I am so glad you folks will be up there for your birthday! I can't believe you are 28.
