28 Random Things About Me

I've done these before, but in honor of my Golden Birthday tomorrow (seriously...how am I already going to be 28!?), I thought I'd try to come up with more random factoids about me, myself and I.

Here we go, in no particular order:

1. I don't like making phone calls. I have to psych myself up to do it. I rehearse in my head what I need to say. The only people I can  call without hesitation are my Jacob, my mom and Erica. I've always been this way even before cell phones. Texting is one of the greatest things ever invented.

2. I have this weird obsession with mascots or people dressed in costume. (Besides clowns and mimes. They fall into the freaky category, obviously). It's very rare that I'll walk up to strangers and talk to them, but if someone is walking around in a costume, I will chase them down. Jacob about died once at a Kernel's game when a guy in a parrot costume walked by with necklaces. I'm in my seat and reached out to grab him..."Hey you! Parrot! I want a necklace!" Ha ha!

3. I'm very OCD about having things on my hands. I hate touching raw meat and scrub my hands when I get any food on them while cooking. Also, when I use playdoh, and it leaves a dry film on my hands...ICK! Don't like dirt on them. Basically anything that can dry or cake on disgusts me.

4. Just thinking about the "fingernails on a chalkboard" sounds actually gives me the chills. (I seriously have goosebumps right now).

5. I'm also OCD about my hair. I always carry a hairbrush with me. I hate when the wind blows it. I brush it probably 10-15 times a day. Weird, huh?

6. At the very top of my "Bucket List" is to go on a road trip with my sister Erica. Actually, it would be awesome to go with both of my sisters. I'm jealous that Erica gets to take another one this summer clear across the US.

7. I want to see a taping of the Ellen Show.

8. I have the VERY best job in the whole wide world. I always knew I wanted to be a Stay at Home Mom. Every job I worked, I always felt there was something missing. I finally found my calling.

9. When I try to think of other jobs that I'd like to have someday, the only other thing that ever comes to mind is being a photographer. Hmm. Don't know if I have what it takes, but I sure am "snap happy".

10. If I could live in any fictional place it would be Stars Hollow (Gilmore Girls)

11. I love the smell of freshly mowed grass.

12. I HATE the sound of the crunching metal of a car crash. I was reminded of this last month when I witnessed an accident that happened right in front of me.

13. I would love to have 2 more kids, although we probably won't be able to afford that. If we did have 2 more I would love to have another boy first and then a girl . If we only have 2, I'd probably want a girl. I kinda love boys right now.

14. I wear holes in socks faster than anyone I know. Jacob can't believe the amount of socks I go through in a year.

15. I can burp louder than any girl I know. Most people don't know that, because only the people I'm closest to ever hear it!

16. I secretly can't wait until Daniel is old enough to take to a Sunday Cardinals game where kids can walk the bases with their parents....so Jacob and I can walk the bases. :)

17. I LOVE thunderstorms right up until the tornado sirens go off. Then I am instantly terrified.

18. I am still obsessed with reality TV. My mom and I used to get together every week to watch Survivor and since I moved 3 years ago, we have a texting date each week while it's on. I love "watching" it with her still.

19. Sometimes I still get homesick for Iowa. I don't really cry about it anymore like I did in the beginning. The first year was the hardest. I still miss being close to my parents. I miss my friends. And I miss my old church.

20. I dream of winning the lottery (although I never play, I have been tempted to play the Mega Millions a few times!). Things I would do: Buy a new house (not huge, but bigger), fuel efficient cars, visit Erica, Jim and Logan, at least twice a year, get our Illinois season tickets back, get Cards season tickets, have college money for our kids, never work again, and have 3 kiddos.

21. I always sing in my car.

22. I miss the old days where I could go out on a long drive. Those were some of the best "thinking" moments. I'd get in my car and drive 30 or 40 miles just for fun. Gas was also only about$1.30/gal. then too.

23. Along those sames lines...I love driving when it's just me. I don't like driving other people in my car though. I'm not that great of a driver. LOL. I have no depth perception. I've learned to deal with it, but I still don't like having other passengers.

24. I want to go to Hawaii.

25. I get super competitive when playing board games in large groups. If you wanna see me come out of my shell, play a game with me.

26. I basically hate all other games that are not board games and will more than likely refuse to participate.

27. I absolutely 100% cannot walk in high heels.

28. I would probably drink a caramel frappe from McDonalds every single day if I could afford it. (Oh...I might just buy a McDonalds for our family when I win that Mega Millions.)
