I'm too sleepy to write much tonight, but it was a fun day getting to celebrate with him. I still can't believe that tomorrow he's turning 4! That means 4 years ago on this night I was so so excited, and so scared and anxious! I laughed and I cried. I couldn't wait to meet the little guy who had been kicking me for months! Time really does fly.
Mimi and Pa Elam came over this afternoon, and Daniel got to open all of his presents! He got lots of cools things. I really think he loved everything he got.

He couldn't wait to start playing with everything. He wore his watch on and off (gotta get used to it!), and wore his CAT hat to supper. Played with his new CAT and had fun making it push toys and bows. James even had a blast chasing after it with Daniel. We checked out all the Paw Patrol pups. He and I read his new story tonight and bedtime. We're going to play his new game tomorrow and I'm pretty sure he's going to wear one of his new shirts. I'd say Mimi and Pa and Mommy and Daddy did a good job picking out presents!
We went out to Krieger's for supper tonight. Mr. James was so hungry. He ate a whole jar of food, a chicken nugget, some cheese and a few fries! He also hadn't napped except a short 30 minute nap in the church nursery this morning. His little eyes started rolling back and he eventually laid his head down on the table and passed out. Mimi picked him up and held him until we were all done and he never flinched when Jacob put his coat and hat on. He finally woke back up when we got in the van!
We came back to the house for cake and ice cream. Daniel enjoyed getting to blow out his candles. He didn't eat much. He was probably full from supper. James had no problem scarfing down some ice cream though.
Daniel fell asleep in my lap before bed and once again...just like every year, he's fallen asleep on me the night before his birthday. (I'm guessing that won't last forever...if it did it would probably seem a little odd!). He asked me if I was sad that he is turning 4 since I always say to stop growing up! I told him it was something called bittersweet. I'm sad, but very happy! He thought that was silly!
I'm not sure what we'll do tomorrow, but I want to do something special with him so he can have a fun REAL birthday too! :)
