It's been over a month since I last blogged! I just haven't been too motivated to do it.
I think winter is officially over! Even though yesterday Daniel told me that he wanted to make a snowman with me. Not happening child. Do not jinx us. I even have the windows open today. Ahhh, fresh air.
Daniel keeps me quite busy every day. He's silly and smart and a total booger!
I do not like the phase we're going through right now. He's very mean to our friends at the Y, and it's very frustrating for me. He starts off well each day and as time goes on, he starts getting irritated and will push, pull hair, hit, throw toys at, and kick his friends. He's 2. I know. We're working on it, and I have been reassured by many moms with kiddos a bit older than Daniel that this will soon pass. Deep breaths. Lots and lots of deep breaths.
Potty training is going well. I'm still not pushing it hard, but the past 2 days he has stayed dry all morning and told me when he needs to go! Plus he loves wearing his Pull Ups now, so I'm hoping this will make the transition to big boy underwear even easier. This potty stuff is exhausting though!
There are things that I love about this age too though.
He can follow simple tasks very well, and likes to help me out.
When we tell him that we love him, he'll reply back with, "Love you too!"
He's getting ever so slightly better at snuggling. I love when he'll just lay down on the couch with me and hang out watching TV.
The kiddo amazes me. He knows how to say his full name. He can say his ABC's...well almost. He usually forgets L and mixes up R and S. He's getting closer to being able to count to 20. Knows tons of shapes including things like hexagons. He can pretty much spell his name. Knows all of his colors. Can say all of the days of the week, but needs help with the order.
Oh, and his memory! My gosh. That kid will remember things that happened before he even turned 2! There's no getting things past him. He remembers ALL.
We just had a fun visit from Aunt Nenny. He sure loves his aunt and I had lots of fun sister time too!
This weekend I actually get to go hear Jacob's kids sing while Pa watches Daniel for me.
Next weekend we'll head to Villa Grove for Easter.
Then the following weekend my parents are coming to celebrate my birthday!
Fun month, and it's flying by already!
So glad to read a new post and to remember going through all of those fun and maddening stages with my kids. You are such a good Momma and I'm so proud of you!
ReplyDeleteYeah, what Sheila said ;) I can so relate with Daniel and the stage he is in working with kids in child watch 2 days a week. We know the ones we really need to watch and the ones who are just silly and love to laugh. it's a fun age but very tiring. You are doing such a good job with Daniel, Rachel, lots of deep breaths and lots of praise for good behavior :)
ReplyDeleteI have said it before, it's fun to watch him grow up through your blog and fb :)
love you, Mommagirl!
I agree with Sheila and Kathy... he is growing way too fast. :)
