RIP My Fatty Baked Good Friends

I don't feel like writing again tonight, so a list it is!

  • Daniel slept for 12 hours straight last night. HOORAY!
  • I discovered Hostess was going under. Sadness. Sad because there will be no more CupCakes and waxy Chocolate Donettes. Also sad because so many people just lost their jobs today. Thanks for making us fat and satisfied Hostess workers of America. You will be missed.
  • Worked at the Y and only had 3 kids including Daniel. Heck yeah!
  • Came home and fed Daniel.
  • Ashely came for a visit and Daniel enjoyed being silly with her!
  • Baked Daniel's birthday cake. I want that thing to cool. I am bound and determined not to ruin the cake while frosting it this time.
  • Started to wrap a couple of gifts.
  • Made supper and ate supper.
  • Dusted the house.
  • Snuggled with my boy and he actually watched some of Toy Story 2 with me!
  • Put him to bed.
  • Went to Dollar Tree
  • Decided since I was out I had better check to see if there was anything Hostess related left at WalMart and I scored these bad boys!

  • Came home and ate a cupcake. It made me think of my childhood. I loved going to "The Day Old Bakery" as Grandma called it. She would always let me get a 2 pack of the cupcakes. I always loved the way they would pop out of the plastic container. The donettes remind me of coming to visit Jacob in Assumption. We would always go to the gas station on Sunday mornings and I would get a pack of these.  The funny thing is I never buy Hostess anymore. I always buy generic, but I just knew I would regret not getting these one last time. Now I have closure.
  • Have so much to do tomorrow. Frost a cake, vacuum, clean the bathroom, mop the floor, finish wrapping Daniel's presents, balance the checkbook...and it's just me and the kiddo tomorrow. I hate always feeling behind! Hopefully I can get this all completed...but I would rather sit around and watch TV all day!

  3. Maybe that everyone is buying Hostess - someone may buy the company. I sure hope so for the workers' sake; that is the saddest part of all. I can't remember when I had one though. We always want what we can't have (so they say). I liked how you decorated Daniel's cake! How fun.
