Just Another Manic Monday

Okay...just the morning. Thankfully I did not have 15 kids like last Monday. I only had 9, but it felt like 15 sometimes. Lots and lots of whining and crying going on today. The little twin 2 year old boys were super whiny and every time they would cry it would make Daniel cry too! The first hour crept by, but the second hour seemed to go a little faster.

Anyway, backing up a little. We have exciting news in our house! Daniel has officially taken his first steps! Last night he was taking 2 or 3 steps at a time! It's so much fun watching him learn this new skill. Today he took 4 steps at the most. He'll be cruising the house in no time. Eek! and Yay!
He also slept through the night again last night. Hooray!

Jacob stayed home today in an attempt to finally get fully recovered now that the musical is over. He definitely had the worst sickness. Since he was home resting, I decided to go to Springfield this afternoon to do some shopping. Daniel has been taking long naps, so I put him down and then took off. I told Jacob he could text me if Daniel woke up and he needed me to come home. I had my fingers crossed that I wouldn't get a text. This was my first shopping trip to Springfield alone since Mother's Day! It was nice to get in and out of the car without having to buckle and unbuckle a kiddo in an annoying car seat!

I spent about 2.5 hours there, but could have spent way more. I wanted to go to so many places, but had to limit myself. Maybe next weekend when I'm home we can sqeeze in a little shopping during the Christmas madness! Lots going on, so who knows?

I went to Target and bought gifts for my friends baby shower that I get to go to next weekend while we're in Iowa. I love picking out baby things! I of course spent WAY too long choosing and checking out everything in the store!

Then I went to Goodwill in search of good deals in the baby clothes section. It was half price day, but I didn't find anything. Sadness. Actually I did find one dress shirt, but I put it back. I was hoping to find some cute little sweaters for him, but they didn't have any in his size.

Next, I checked out Party City to see if they had anything cute I could use for Daniel's little birthday get together this weekend, but their prices are outrageous. I'm just going to use the jungle animal theme they have at Dollar Tree. I wanted some 1st Birthday stuff, but he won't know the difference, so it really doesn't matter. We're just going to eat cake and throw the plates and napkins away anyway!

Stopped at Hallmark because I had a $5 off $10 purchase, but just couldn't settle on anything, so I saved $5 there. Ha ha!

Ran into Kohls to see if they had any cute boys Christmas outfits. Dresses, dresses, dresses. Could clothes companies be any more biased towards girls when it comes to cute little dress outfits?

My last stopped was Babies R Us. I had a coupon to use, so figured I'd see if I could find anything to buy there. I finally found some cute little sweater vests and they were on sale! Got this for him.

Anyway, I had a very nice ME afternoon! It doesn't happen often enough and yet, it's okay. I love spending time with my kiddo too!
