What a weird week that has been. No reason really. It's just been one of those weeks where time keeps passing by, but I feel like I've accomplished nothing. I've had no motivation, which leads to me being lazy and feeling ridiculously tired.
Next week I've gotta amp up the motivation! I got hired to work at the YMCA in the child care area. I've really been wanting to bring in a little bit of extra money for our family, and the idea of working at the Y came to me a couple of months ago so I applied at the end of September even though there were no openings. I got a call last week and interviewed on Monday. I didn't even feel like it was an interview. More of a chat and then, "Can you start Monday?"
For the most part it seems like the perfect situation. It's for 2 hours and 15 minutes each morning, Monday through Friday. I will have Daniel with me at all times. It doesn't interfere with lunch or nap time either. Plus on top of that I will get a free membership and if I want to add Jacob and Daniel I could do so for $11/mo. What a steal!
Hopefully it won't be too stressful. I'll be the only one in there with however many kiddos show up on a given day. Ages can range from 6 months to 6 years. When I went the other day it looked like the average age was maybe between 2 and 3 though, so hopefully it won't be too bad! I'm definitely not nervous, that for sure. This is old hat for me. Someday I'll stop working in child care, but for now it's what makes sense.
The one thing I don't look forward to is getting Daniel ready to go each morning! We're in the "I don't want to wear socks and shoes so I will pull them off over and over again" stage. Then there's the battle of the jacket. Which is then followed up with the battle of the car seat.
I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with our car seat. It got decent reviews, but I've been doing TONS of car seat research lately (mostly about safety)...that's a whole different blog in itself. The dang straps get twisted and I have a very hard time tightening the harness on it. It's supposed to be easy, and it is when it's NOT in the car. I think it may just be because it's rear facing and it makes it more difficult, but I'm not sure. I honestly wish I would have researched better, but I was clueless when it came to convertible seats. The one I have now isn't going to last long enough, so eventually I'm going to have to get a different one. I'm going to start saving up now, so I can get one that I really want. After my research I'm almost certain now that I am going to keep him rear facing until he's 2 years old. (And I used to be a TOTAL skeptic on that one). But, like I said, I'll post more on that later.
Anyway...let the weekend begin. No big plans. I have a hubby who feels sick and a kiddo with a cold. He's not letting it get him down all the time, but he's definitely more grouchy than usual! I'm sure it's headed my way next. Sigh.
You will like child watch and being able to have Daniel with you is great!

I think that is great that you get a free membership! Can someone watch Daniel while you go work out? It's a perfect fit for you in this season of your life - not to mention Daniel's. :)
