Just For Fun- Baby Survey

Since I can't think of anything to write about today and Daniel's 1st birthday is nearing, I thought a little survey about him would be fun.

How did you first find out you were pregnant? I took a pregnancy test a week after I was late. Then I took another one that night just to make sure!
Did you share the news right away or hold off for a minute? I held off! Jacob had already left for work and then had youth group that night, so I had to hold it in for almost 14 hours before I could tell him!
How old were you? 26 when I found out. 27 when I had him.
Do you remember the first time you felt really pregnant? Not specifically. It just seemed surreal at first. It was amazing to hear and see his little heartbeat at 8 weeks, but I think it's was closer to 16 or 17 weeks when I really felt pregnant because my stomach was growing and I was starting to feel flutters.
Did you have any cravings? Nothing weird...just the normal stuff I always crave. Sweets!
Anything that made you sick? During the 1st trimester touching raw meat was SO gross to me. It didn't make me sick, but I also wasn't hungry after I touched it. Cereal also tasted super gross in the beginning.
How far along were you when you started wearing maternity clothes? Pants I started around 12 weeks because the elastic was much more comfy. Shirts I was a little bit further along.
Do you remember the first thing you bought for the baby? A bib! It was what I used to tell Jacob I was pregnant. I wrapped up the positive tests and put a bib inside that said I Love Daddy
What did the technician say about your baby at your first ultrasound? Just that everything looked really good. We saw and heard the heart beat and she told me that I was 8 weeks along. Due date of November 21st.
Did you get to hear the heartbeat? Yep!
Did you want to know the gender? Yes!
Are you still with the baby's father? I sure am!
Was your baby planned or an oops? Totally planned. We had been trying for 8 months, so we were over joyed!
Do you want more kids? Of course I do.
How much weight did you gain when you were pregnant ? Just over 30 pounds. Crazy to watch the numbers on the scale go up.
When did you feel baby move for the first time? I think around 16 or 17 weeks.
Did you have a baby shower? Ha ha! I had MANY baby showers. I was blessed by so many loving people in my life. Even Jacob got a couple of showers at school!
How long were you in the hospital? 2 full days. And left the morning of the 3rd day.

Who takes care of your baby most of the time? Me because I am home with him the most.
Did your baby have any hair when born? He sure did. Hilarious...my doctor gave him a "mohawk" AS I was pushing him out. We had a very silly group of staff in our room and I loved it.
What color eyes does your baby have? Beautiful brown eyes
Did you keep the baby ? Uh...YES.
Who does your baby look like? He looks like Daddy and takes after Grandma Elam's side of the family. Although he has a bit of Mommy in him too.
��The Birth!��
home or hospital ? if hospital what was the name ? At the hospital...St. John's.
Natural or medicated birth ? Got me an epidural. Best decision ever..after the 3rd attempt and getting it to work anyway.
Who was in the delivery room with you ? Jacob, my OB/GYN, nurse, resident Dr. and a student.
Did you cry when you first saw your baby ? I sure did. He was the most beautiful baby I had ever laid eyes on.
How many days did you stay in the hospital? I already answered this!
How long were you in labor? Hmm...started Pitocin at 8:30. Water broken at 10. Fully dilated at 3, but had to wait until 4:45 when my OB finally got there from delivering another baby! So...8 hours I guess?
How long did you push? 1 hour
Did you deliver naturally or c-section? Naturally
How long was your baby in the hospital? He came home with us.

Do you wash the pacifier every time it falls on the floor? Never used a pacifier
Do you constantly wipe hands? Not really. Just if he gets into something really gross.
How often do you bathe your child? Every other day unless he gets really dirty.
Do you use special baby detergent to wash their clothes? Heck no. That stuff is expensive.
Do you check on your child constantly during naps and the night? Not like a used to, but I do check on him frequently.
What do you do when he/she cries? Well...he usually wakes a couple times at night STILL, but I usually end up getting him because I can't stand the screaming and crying for 30 minutes or longer.
Does he/she sleep in their own bed? All night? Yes....although sometimes when I bring him in with me I end up dozing off and waking up an hour later. Oops! Then I just go lay him back down again.
Are you picky about what he/she wears? Yes and no. I like him to match and look nice. But I'm definitely not picky about hand me downs. I LOVE those!
Is he/she breastfed or formula fed ? Breast fed.
Do you enjoy being a mommy? I LOVE IT!
What is the hardest thing? Hmm...sometimes he can really test my patience when I does things over and over again when we tell him no. Also, just not getting time away by myself a lot. Every once in awhile I crave a couple days of no mommy responsibility, but I know I'd miss that boy way too much.
What is the best thing? Everything else. Just watching him learn and grow. He amazes me all the time. I love his my ol' smile and giggles. He's just awesome.

Do you want more children? Yes
How long before you have another baby? That's a good question. Hopefully we'll be able to try again maybe when Daniel is about 2.5 or so.
What gender do you hope for next? Hmm. I'll say girl. I'd love 3 kids (2 boys and a girl), but I'm thinking 2 kids will probably be what we can afford ( :( ) so it would be nice to have a boy and a girl. Honestly though, I'd be just as happy with 2 boys.
What gender does your husband hope for next? I think he'd probably say a girl too.
