Fun Times With Grandma

Last week my mom came to stay with Daniel and I while Jacob when to a conference.

Tuesday we just hung out at the house all day being lazy and watching tv. Daniel just enjoyed Grandma time!

On Wednesday we were more motivated. We took Daniel out for a swim before it go super hot. I wish it would cool down soon so I can take him out again. I feel like it's too hot to go out with him when it's over 100 degrees every day! That day though he enjoyed splashing and even "swimming" on his tummy.

Then we went to Springfield for the afternoon to go shopping! First stop was at Target where Daniel scored another new hat and a toy boat for his pool. Then to Babies R Us to check out what they had on clearance. Picked up a few things including a new pair of swim trunks. I under-estimated the size my child would be when I bought his other ones last year. I had picked up 6-9 months and he's already in 12 months! His current trunks are a little snug. Then we went to Kohls, Old Navy and WalMart before heading home.

On Thursday we went shopping again! Only this time we went with Jacob's mom too. We went to the outlet mall in Tuscola. The 2 places I was excited to hit up were Carter's and Osh Kosh. Both had some AMAZING clearance deals and sale prices. Daniel ended up with quite the haul, but now he has a head start for this fall/winter. I couldn't be more thankful for 2 moms/grandmas who love to buy clothes for their adorable grandson.

We also had lunch at the Candy Kitchen. So delcious!

Apple pie and ice cream for dessert.

I also hit up Old Navy for myself. I picked up a flag tank top, 2 hoodies and some flip flops, plus another cute little shirt for Daniel. My mom ended up buying it all for me. I have an awesome mom! The deals were great. Everything in the store was 40% off and the clearanced stuff was 30%. The hoodies I got were orginally like $30 a piece and they ended up being around $12 a piece!

We had a very sleepy boy after all of that shopping!

Mom went home on Friday and Jacob came home that same morning. Daniel was so happy to see him. I was sad to see my mom go, but happy Jacob was home!

Daniel has learned to army crawl and boy is he getting fast! Little turkey gets into everything and since he doesn't always like to be stuck in the Jumperoo, we set up a pack n play for him.

Although, I think he enjoyed the laundry basket just as much!

Wednesday we're going to VG for 4th! Going to spend it with Grandma and Grandpa Elam. I know they'll be excited to see the army crawl in person. We've decided against the fireworks this year though. Don't want to keep him up and we know that they'll scare him. Maybe next year!

Our next trip to Iowa has been delayed because my brother-in-law has a heart procedure that he has to have done tomorrow, so their whole road trip got delayed. Hoping it all goes well for him and glad that they're still going to make it to Taylorville! Just about a week and a half behind schedule. Can't wait to see them all!
